We have a wall in our home, a family wall. It displays some of the pictures most special to our family. It seemed like it was missing something - not just color, but something special. Something that said family. I had an idea.

To begin, I scrounged up scrap wood in my garage, used it to create the main structure, and painted it white. I digitally adapted silhouette images and cut used my Silhouette Cameo machine to cut the intricate vinyl shapes.

Plastic bags proved perfect for dabbing bursts of color with acrylic paints. I applied the vinyl and courageously spray painted everything black. After carefully peeling back the vinyl, our colorful family silhouette was revealed! I surprised my wife with it for Christmas! Best part: that’s my family. Wall complete.
